Name: Tara Detchemendy
Neighborhood: Park Slope, Brooklyn
Occupation: Graphic Designer, new SAHM
Baby’s Sex: It’s a boy!
How would you describe your pregnant style?
I’m really a laid-back person in general. For pregnancy, I love leggings with boots and layered tops with interesting necklaces. Sometimes it’s hard to wear accessories, because by the time I get out the door my little girl who’s 2 wants to wear my necklace and bracelets!
Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during this pregnancy?
My challenges so far have been wearing tops that become crop tops over the course of my pregnancy. So I tend to search for longer tank tops and shirts. With my growing belly, I started wearing my husband’s winter coat, because mine no longer fits.
So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?
This is my second pregnancy. I was mostly surprised by how quickly I started showing with this one. This is also my first time living in NYC and have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how everyone is so polite on the subway. For the most part, I’m always offered a seat.
What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?
I find wearing tight stretchy clothes most attractive while being pregnant, so I bought a bunch of H&M stretchy tops that work really well showing off my bump.
What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?
I’m looking forward to long walks, going to the farmer’s market and having picnics in Prospect Park this spring and enjoying family time together.
