5 Second Pick Me Up: Peppermint Oil

Get energized by this one essential oil.

It’s seems like every time we read a new report, we’re finding out about the benefits of different oils. Earlier this year, while I was knee-deep in spring allergies, one of our savvy contributors recommended I dab peppermint oil on different pulse points–a few months later I’m using it for fall allergies as well. It’s been proven to inhibit histamine relief. And while that is a pick-me-up in its own right, peppermint oil has also been know to ease morning sickness, calm headaches and soothe intestinal irritations. And for those of you abstaining from coffee throughout your pregnancy, you’ll be happy to hear that peppermint oil is so energizing that many people use the scent in place of their morning cup of joe. Ahhh, the power of aromatherapy. Can anything reeeally replace coffee though?
