Earth Day really snuck up on me this year. I’m ashamed to admit that I hadn’t thought of it at all until I saw all the great posts popping up here on WRNY. But better late than never, I plan to spend this weekend shopping for some local plants to dress up our balcony and the bare corners of our apartment. Here are a few Earth Day-themed links I stumbled across this week. I hope your weekend is filled with all things happy, healthy and green!

With the earth on my mind and thoughts of California’s water situation, I think we could all benefit from this nifty little contraption (don’t you wish you had thought of that?!).

Eco-friendly furniture maker duc duc opened its first dedicated showroom in New York. Stop by to ogle their locally made, low VOC, solid wood beauties and deck Baby’s room in style.

Feed and The Honest Co. teamed up to make a chic canvas diaper bag that gives back to fellow moms and babies in need. We think that’s about as earth-friendly as it gets.

I missed the ‘Saving My Tomorrow’ HBO special the first time around, but now feels like a good time to pull it up on demand.

And lastly, summer IS coming (we promise), so now’s a good time to explore local camps and day trips to take with your tots. I love everything about the programing at The Bronx Zoo.
