Second-Hand Scores

Thrifty moms-to-be take heed: 5 great destinations for vintage baby and maternity clothes finds.

Do you know how many newborn outfits go unworn in NYC? It’s enough to declare an epidemic. While we won’t pretend that baby clothes get better with age, most certainly don’t get worse. It’s not like the baby’s running a marathon in his Tea Collection footed pajamas. We’re already pretty sure you’re already shopping vintage for yourself, so why not give the trusty habit a shot for the little one? Here’s our favorite places to bolster baby’s closet with some unique vintage finds. And don’t forget to check out the Giveaway below!

Little Swappies is offering two sets of readers two tickets each to the next Little Swappies, on Saturday Sept. 28 from 10am – 1pm at Avenues: World School in New York City. Just tell us why you want to win in the comments section below by Friday, Sept. 27, and give a little love to our social media by “liking” us on Facebook, and following us on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Winner will be contacted Friday afternoon.

  1. With 3 children second hand scores are totally awesome and much needed! Plus easier on the pockets! This would be awesome to win!

  2. I’ve totally become my mother and love hand me downs! I am actually proud to say I never purchase new and always look for second hand steals! With a 4 year old girl and a 3 month old boy I need to be thrifty!

  3. I love the fact that this event not only helps families such as my own with clothing for my child – but also gives back to the community and others. Raising a child in NYC can be quite expensive and helping to reduce the cost for many is essential. I would delighted to be able to attend this event and provide clothing and toys for my fellows moms and dads.
I already have a large bag of great clothes waiting to be swapped!!!

  6. I actually also have an Etsy shop where I source and sell vintage baby clothing. You can find me on Etsy and Instagram at @rolypolyz. I also just started making a few items for the shop including simple jersey tie headbands and something I am super proud of, a baby poncho! Hope you check it out!
