The Magic of Muslin

Aden + Anais founder Raegan Moya-Jones helps get us — and our babes — through the night.

The minute you get pregnant, every one of your friends gives you their registry list. One says you need this, another says you need that, and a third says you don’t need this or that. But there’s one thing they can all agree on: you can’t live without Aden + Anais muslin swaddles. If you’re already a mom, I know you’re nodding along…there’s pretty much nothing these super blankets don’t do. But our favorite way to work their muslin magic is by using them to swaddle our little babes so they — and we — can get a good night’s sleep.

Aden + Anais founder Raegan Moya-Jones swears by muslin. The finely-woven, breathable fabric has a delicate, but durable weave. It’s stretchy, but has give, so you can tuck baby in snuggly without restricting movement. Cotton muslin is light and airy, so no worries about overheating. Plus, it’s a “workhorse fabric,” so it stands up to repeated washings and gets softer — and better — with age. With all those qualities, it’s no surprise Aden + Anais uses muslin in just about every sleep-inducing piece in its collection.

Moya-Jones knows a thing or two about getting babies to sleep…she’s got four of them. Below, she gives us a few sleep tips that worked well for her own daughters, and shows off some of Aden + Anais’s newest must-haves. Trust us, you’ll be recommending them to all of your friends for their registries.
