How would you describe your pregnant style?
Basic, casual and classic. Basically whatever fits, and is comfortable but also makes me feel like I can still wear some of my favorite pieces and that I haven’t had to give up all sense of style.
Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during this pregnancy?
For sure. I’m a huge denim and t-shirt girl and as time went by I had to switch to maternity denim, which proved to be hard to find. There’s a large variety out there but most of them didn’t feel great to me. I tried some higher end ones as I was willing to pay the price for a few pairs that would be worth it. In the end, I only found a couple that I love and wear almost daily. (One of which I wear in the pics).
So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?
The mixed emotions and physical effects on the body for both good and not so good: the past 8 months have been a physical and emotional roller coaster. Some days and weeks I’ve felt great. I felt strong, and rested, excited and elated. Then others, I’ve felt completely exhausted, in all sorts of pain and emotionally drained, and even slightly depressed. I didn’t expect the highs to be as high and the lows as low. I also didn’t expect the physical effects and how varied they would be. For a time in my pregnancy, I felt like every week brought on a new surprise I wasn’t expecting, from nausea that lasted all day, to migraines, to digestive problems–the list goes on and on.
What are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?
All the firsts she will get to experience. First time seeing the ocean, or feeling the breeze, or seeing fresh flowers. All the discoveries she will make along the way.
