We all know the internet has brought the world to our fingertips, but sometimes it’s nice — and important — to take a break from cyberspace and check back in with the real world. Especially since, when you live in Brooklyn, that real world is way better than anything you can find online! But in a neighborhood this cool, there’s undoubtedly hidden gems that can take years to discover. Cue: Mommy Nearest, an awesome free app for on-the-go parent-friendly recommendations around the Big Apple. Using their community of local mamas, Mommy Nearest combs New York City for kid-friendly restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and even bathrooms.

We’re incredibly honored to have been chosen as “Expert Moms” for Mommy Nearest, meaning that we’ll be offering our picks for the Mommy Nearest community, and you’ll be able to find out about our experiences and adventures around New York City on the Mommy Nearest blog. For our first assignment, we’ve hit the streets of Brooklyn and rounded up our very fave places to pick up a present for that oh-so-cute baby of yours…or your BFF’s, or your husband’s work colleague. So close your computer, grab your wallet, and get ready for the oohs and ahhs when that new mama rips open the wrapping paper to the best darn baby gift she’s ever seen.

  2. “Now that cool babies are strolling the streets of Bed-Stuy”– what does that even mean? White babies? Babies born to affluent parents? That the kids strolling the streets of Bed-Stuy before them weren’t “cool”? I think perhaps you might want to rephrase this.

    1. Thanks for your comment. It was never our intent too imply that, we think all babies are cool! We’ll make an adjustment asap.
